Present Moment Awareness

How does it get any better than this?

It’s only the first week in October and it has been an awesome start to the month!

I need to back track to 21 September……

I participated in the Fall Equinox Labyrinth Walk, at Tigh Shee (Celtic for House of Peace), in Lancaster Heights in Ontario, which also happened to be the United Nations International Day of Peace. Betty, our hostess always starts off with a prayer, and of course, this time the prayer was for world peace. As most of us know by now, any change we wish for has to always start with us, from within. She requested that we greet each other with the words, “peace be with me…… peace be with you”. The energy we generated and shared in that room was amazing! A few days later, the leader of Iran phoned the leader of the USA to begin talks to bring about peace between the 2 countries!! People all over the world were praying for peace that day….. It just goes to show what collective consciousness can do!

I started a Qabalah course on 26 September, and I know it has been a huge contributing factor to the shift I am experiencing in my life right now.

Part of our assignment for the week was to practice present moment awareness. These were mine……..

Monday:

I had to travel to Ottawa on my own and it wasn’t a journey I was particularly looking forward to. In hindsight, it was the perfect opportunity for me to experience a few ah-ha moments. I had my car radio on and the station played 3 very uplifting songs in a row. One was by Natasha Bedingfield, called “Unwritten”, and the second one was by Katy Perry called “Roar”. I pumped up the volume and sang along at the top of my voice!! It was during this time I began taking in my surroundings and REALLY noticing the beauty of nature and the stunning autumn colours. I was filled with so much joy and gratitude that my eyes filled with tears. The radio started losing reception, so I changed it to another station….. They replayed the same 3 songs I had just heard!! Strangely, I can’t remember the 3rd song…..

Tuesday:

I had a client come for her first coaching session and she presented me with a poem written by George Bernard Shaw……..

“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances; complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me; it is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.”

I’ve always believed I’m here to serve and I know we have so much to learn from each other!

Wednesday:

I went for a walk on the beach with 3 very special friends, and we had to walk through the forest to get there. I remember commenting to one of them about the sound the leaves made as our feet crushed them as we were walking. We took photos of each other when we got to the end. One of the ladies commented that in everyone else in he photo was in the shadows and I was the only one surrounded in sunlight. My first thought was OMW!! My inner light is shining!!!

Thursday:

I attended my second Qabalah lesson…… which I will talk about next time!

Life is good!

With love, light and peace,

Doris
